My daughter (she's 10) and I just completed Brian's Ukulele Bootcamp course at Cuesta College. It was a wonderful experience! We learned very practical fundamental skills and were quickly playing and singing songs well before the course was over. We will definitely take more classes from Brian in the future, and bring the rest of the family along next time! ~ Naomi Manning
Description of Classes
Ukulele Bootcamp
Ready to learn how to play a musical instrument? The ukulele is like ‘Prozac with strings’ because of it’s power to transform those who play it. Research has revealed that learning to play an instrument not only sharpens thinking skills, but may also slow the aging process! The ukulele is the easiest, least expensive, and most enjoyable instrument anyone can learn to play. Whether you are 10 years old or 99 years young, ‘Uke’ can play! The California central coast is home to one of the most vibrant communities of ukulele players in the country. You will learn several beginner songs with a patient teacher and by the end of class have the confidence to join any of the many jam-along groups that meet locally on a regular basis. A $20 material fee includes a workbook & tuner. Don't own a ukulele? No problem, just notify the instructor in advance so he can bring one for you to use during the class (with the option to purchase it at the end of the class).
I came to bootcamp unsure if my old fingers could play the uke. Brian's course helped me be confident and successful and able to play. I enjoyed playing and learning so much. He was patient and made the class relaxing and fun. I'm motivated to continue! ~ Sandy Baers
I enjoyed the Bootcamp very much. I am the 92-year-old youngster that was in the class. I’m inspired to learn and play, and your teaching approach was the best I have experienced. ~ Marian
