Local Ukulele Play-alongs
On the California Central Coast, we are blessed with a very active ukulele community! There are so many great options:
Morro Bay Rockin' Ukes
Meets at the Wine Seller in Morro Bay the first Wednesday of each month from 6-8pm (arrive by 5:30 to get a seat!), but takes a hiatus over the summer months. Contact Barb Ignatius for more info. They also have a Facebook page.
Meets the 2nd & 4th Monday of each month in downtown SLO the San Luis Obispo Museum of Art (1010 Broad Street near the mission). Visit http://slostrummers.org/ for more info. More suited for intermediate level and above.
5 Cities Strummers
Meets at at the Senior Center in Oceano at 1580 Railroad St. (Off Highway 1, just past the Rock n Roll Railroad Car Diner) the 3rd Monday of each month at 6:30pm. Visit http://fivecitiesstrummers.com for more info.
Templeton Ukulele Conspiracy
Meets Tuesdays from 10-11am at Templeton Bethel Lutheran Church (295 Old County Rd.). Meet in the back of the church (follow the sign to Fellowship Hall). For more info contact Matt's Music in Templeton at 805-237-0054.
SLO Acoustic Music Jam
While not exclusively ukulele, ukulele players are welcome! Jams are held from 2-4 p.m. on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month in SLO. If you have music you'd like to share, please bring 15 copies to hand out to the group.
